Mazza, Colosimo, Jannone -- Michael, 05:40:09 07/19/08 Sat [1]

My grandmother, Teresa Mazza, immigrated to the United States on December 26, 1916. She was from Petrona, Italy and traveled with members of the Rizzuti and Colosimo families. Do any of these names sound familiar? I am trying to locate information regarding other Mazza families from Petrona.

Teresa Mazza was born in 1892 (verified by Ellis Island records) on a possible date of March 21. The U.S. Social Security Office reports her birth date of March 21, 1894 (year inconsistent with Ellis Island records) and her death in October, 1971 at her last residence in Champaign County, Ohio. Assuming Ellis Island records to be more accurate, Teresa was 79 years old when she died.

Teresa Mazza departed Italy from the Port of Naples on the ship "Patria" and arrived in the United States on December 26, 1916 (see ship manifest line number 0020). She provided documents to Ellis Island authorities that she was born in Petrona, Italy in 1892, thus 24 years old upon arrival. Her last residence is listed with her mother, Ma(Maria) Antonia Jannone in Petrona, Italy. Teresa Mazza's father is not referenced and he may have been deceased when she immigrated.

Angelica Foresta -- Andrew Adezio, 03:11:17 06/14/08 Sat [1]

Hello,
I am looking for information regarding Angelica Foresta my great grandmother who was from Calabria. I believe she was born in Calabria (i dont know where) on August 22rd 1893. From what my parents have told me Foresta may not be her true name as she was possibly adopted. However any information about where she came from would be helpful. I believe she came to the USA in 1909. She married Abramo Adezio my great grandfather. If anyone can give me any info regarding her or her family that would be fantastic.
Thanks,
Andrew

I have been looking like crazy the exact date of my great-great-grandpa, he was born around 1841 and 1843, in his death record says he was from Catanzaro, Calabria. But I need the precise place and date to get a birth certificate I could get it from the LDS records but within three months and I need it now. So if you happen to have this info I´d be more than thankful. Thanks again

I am also researching the Perri,Marchese/Marchesi, Stillo and Sturino names.

While searching LDS#1641189, I found this information that I haven't been able to place in my research but it may fit into yours.

Atti di Matrimonio: 1886 Oct. 10 Pietro Chiappetta, 21,born in Rende, son of Giuseppe Chiappetta and Rachele Perri and Concetta Giraldi 24,born in Rende, daughter of Rosario Giraldi and Chiara Scola.

1889 Jan. 26 Simone Perri,36, born in Castrolibero, son of Michele Perri and Maria Turco. Concetta DeRango,23, born in Castrolibero, daughter of Gannaro DeRango and Chiara Fumo.

1890 Sept. 11 Francesco Cesario,212, bor n in San Fili, son of Domenico Cesario and Vincenza Rinaldi. Francesca Rende,19, born in Rende daughter of Antonio Rende and Concetta Muto.

1891 Oct. 4 Giovanni Cesario25, born in Rende, son of Gaetano Cesario and Tommasina Rende. Anna Perri,23. born in San Fili, daughter of Giuseppe Perri and Maria Muto.

I was able to place Simone Perri in my research.

Would you by any Chance have an Angelina Perri who married Raffaele Metallo from Kenosha, Wis. Angelina eas Unmcle Ralph's second wife.
