 Thank you all for your input.
First I would like to point out that during our visits we talk about a wide variety of subjects. I may have given the impression that everytime I see her she is confessing some misdeed and I am reprimanding her. That would be a false impression. She also helps my eldest with her homework and helps out with my youngest. She really is a very sweet girl and not always up to something naughty.
That being said, Sunday while the girls were out and hubby was in the workshop, we were having a chat. She rather nonchalantly said that she just didn't feel like going to work yesterday so she called in. I asked her if she was sick and she kind of shrugged and said "Nah, I just didn't feel like it."
Keri, I guess I took your advice for the most part and very sternly said something like "Now you listen here young lady. You had better shape up. I told you that if you misbehaved again I would turn you over my knees and give you a damned good spanking. You better understand that I'm not fooling around. I mean business and it will be a very severe spanking that will make it very difficult to sit for days. Do you understand me?!" That's not exactly what I said, but it was close. Something just came over me and I really layed the law down. She looked kind of shocked and I would have expected her to tell me off, but she almost looked like she was going to cry and sort of shriveled. Just as kind of an impulse I hugged her. There was a long awkward silence which I finally broke by asking her to help me bake some cookies. She called twice yesterday, so I guess I didn't scare her off too bad.
