I am unscientific when it comes to spankings. But to do my best to answer your questions. When the kids were younger the attention span was less for everything and as they grew older their attentions spans grew longer. So take a school vacation in the summer it seems that when they were younger they would probably find themselves getting it twice over the vacation. Other vacations might see maybe only one of the kids get it. On rare occasion two or all three might get it together.

So while they are older now the spanking I gave 3 weeks ago will most likely keep law and order through Christmas and possibly thorough the upcoming vacation. In the period before Christmas the kids would always try to behave anyways so now that there older it's kind of a tossup as to who, what, where, when and why. Also the spankings given today are for different things then when they were younger. In other words when they were younger they didn't mouth off like they do now and things of that nature. So the average time between spankings now is probably 2 - 3 months and at time more also spankings have been given to different sibs on consequtive days - not often. But an average today is 2 - 3 months.

We were raised in a different time so we earned the trip over the parental knee more often. The one thing that mom did after a spanking was to leave the hairbrush on the kitchen counter for awhile so that we all saw it and knew it had been recently been used, I do the same thing as I believe that it has an effect. Moms spankings would sometimes go days between spankings and sometimes weeks. It really depended. I know I don't spank as often but I do spank.

Yes the same hairbrush used on me and my sibs is the same one used by me. It has certainly seen it's share of blushing buns!
