|.\.~ Slowly the ebony steed plodded through the grasses. He was in no particular mood to go mare-searching today, especially because he had had bad luck in the past with females. They were all so snobby and moody, nothing pleased them, and they always found a way to agrovate the one they 'loved'. Either that or a stallion simply wasn't good enough for them. Snorting, the black tiercel recalled when his last sweetheart had taken off with some other male, after telling Sable Wind that she still loved him, friend-wise. Bah, nothing ended in friendship these days.

And then, as he turned around a bend of thick bushes, he saw her. She was probably the most beautiful mare he had ever seen; either that or she was an angel he had once seen in his dreams. Her pelt color was nothing he had ever seen before, but it shone in the light like a gem and it was a somehow a soothing sight for his weary eyes. And the way she carried herself.. oh.. she was like a queen. For a moment too long he stared, until he snapped out of it when another black padre came stomping with arrogance into the area.

Disgusted, Sable Wind watched as the one called 'Hopeless Thoughts' pulled off every heart-breaking move he could, though it was not at all pleasing to see. The way he moved around her and talked to her proved he wanted nothing more than sex. That much was clear to him. Also, the sahib couldn't stand the way the other stallion was so foward with her; he was acting like he had known her for years and way ready to settle down and have a few foals anytime. And Hopeless Thoughts didn't even know her name.

For a moment the stallion thought he should leave, for he couldn't stand the sight of such a rancid male tormenting such a lovely female, but then he decided he would do something about it. Hey, maybe the fae wouldn't like him, but at least he could scare off the terror that was haunting her. Straightening himself up to his full height, a godly 18 hands, the blackened hawk tossed his proud head and trotted over to the twosome. "Hello, m'lady... I am called Sable Wind, though you may call me Sable. Might I be blessed enough to hear your dubbing?" It was a bit corny, he would admit that, but at least it was a great deal more polite than what the other stallion had said to the madre. And the ebonite steed expressed his thoughts about the other by giving him a very dirty look. ~./.|
