Subject: Monks movie

I saw the Monks movie over the weekend in Leeds. Some observations if you care. I'm glad there is a movie out of course but Mr. Post really seems to imply that the Germans were almost solely responsible for the music of the Monks. The members themselves are portrayed in less than a positive light. Almost like they were puppets in the hands of the managers. It almost seems to be a case of: Thank god for the smart Krauts who managed these morons! I didn't care for the scene of Roger cleaning the church either. Yes, that's what he ended up doing for a living but the movie really sucked the mystique out of the band. I preferred the legend before it was exposed. During the Q & A session that followed it was rather indicative that the director couldn't even remember the name of the guy who filled in for Gary at Cavestomp. Nor was any mention of "Ugly Things" made as to its role in the Monks revival.
