Good story, Tim. The original manga or comic had Flash Junior surviving the helicopter crash and the final Three Roses Club driver alive confessed to him that he killed his father, Flash Sr, in the race 15 years ago.

Flash Jr lived, and willingly regretted what he did and Speed took him to the police and said as soon as he got out, he'd come home again. He tells Speed to look after Lilly.

The filmed story was made different with Flash Junior's death setting a more severe penalty than in the comic strip.

You'll notice the sound of the Mach 5's engine was changed for these two episodes, since they installed a new, supercharged engine. It sounds like pre-NASCAR.
