If I could just jump right in here, I'm not going to debate whether it's 'right' or 'wrong' to spank children, because I personally believe it's a mixed bag...for some children in some circumstances, it's the best approach; for others in other circumstances, it's the worst. It should never be regarded as 'one size fits all.'

What I want to comment on, is MY OPINION that I really don't believe that spanking children causes the child to grow up with a spanking fetish; in fact, MM's comment just proved the other side of it, that he was not spanked and yet developed the fetish anyway. I was one of 4 siblings, probably spanked less than one of the others, more than two of the others...and to my knowledge, none of them have the fetish. I strongly believe it's something you are born with, even though your environment and experiences can help bring it to full life.

And one last comment...I know no one wants to think they have contributed to their's child's sexuality - it's just kind of creepy - but that aside, would it have been so terrible if your daughter had developed a spanking fetish...I mean, you enjoy it...right? If you could make your spanking desires go away with a snap of your fingers, never to return again...would you? I think of it as a special gift; it's something that we can enjoy beyond what vanillas can ever hope to understand and enjoy. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
