Hello, I wanted to get your opinions on this:

My son and daughter are roughly the same age (both preteen). In my family, the boys are spanked more severely and more often. My son (being a boy) is no exception. When spanked, he is always bared in front of his sister or female cousins if they are around. This is done to add to his embarrassment and to help deter his "boyish impulses" as my father would say. However, when it comes time for the girls to be spanked, our family believes that due to their more fragile nature and right to modesty, they should be spanked in private and less harshly. A general rule of thumb in our house is: "At the end of a spanking, a boy's bottom should be a dark red, a girl's should be dark pink." A well behaved boy in our family might be spanked about once ever three weeks or so, whereas a well behaved girl might be spanked about once every three months. But with that said, a typical family gathering has at least 2 - 3 boys (aged 7-18) being bared in front of the family and put over their father or mother's knee.

I was wondering if there are any households here with similar practices and beliefs. Could you please share your experiences spanking boys and girls in this way?
