Hi Sylvia: Sorry to hear that your marriage ended. Men who feel that their masculinity is challenged can act out in some tragic ways (and perhaps your ex did), so I agree with Julie, that feminizing your boys is a valid lifestyle choice. Your boys have a great social structure at home, with older sisters to mentor them, and, presumably, no negative male influence.

A preference for beauty, soft and pretty clothes, gentility, style, and grace are all desirable qualities in a girl and boy. And anything you can do to discourage violence, aggressive behavior, interest in rough contact sports, crudeness, and boorishness is good as well.

Girls do better in school, are better behaved, and are far more likely to graduate college and find jobs in the present economy. And women do all the jobs that men used to do exclusively, so there really isn't any great advantage to raising an alpha male today. A more feminine boy would also be far more accepting of a strong female partner later in life, so his marriage potential would be better as well.
I think that once you expose your boys to feminine things and encourage them to drop any type of macho facade, they will embrace the lifestyle and enjoy it. I didn't have that option decades ago, but I wish I did.

Ignore any pushback you might get, since some boys simply reject female authority figures in general. That's not a good personality trait, with women on the rise in all sectors of our economy, so it would be good to get any such tendencies out of their systems at a young age.
