I am certain you could do a small, all-female "introduction to society" type event with close and trusted friends. I know that, as an adolescent and young teenager, I would have given anything to have had such an evening where I was the center of attention in a safe-but-social environment.

I felt alive and free whenever I had a private moment to put on some heels, hose, and a flouncy dress. To have been recognized and socially accepted for who I felt I was would have been amazing. But, of course, impossible then.
