Hi, Dustin. Why was it disturbing? Well, for one this was totally unexpected. I never felt I would ever be dealing with something like this in a million years and much less with my own child. It took me a bit to get myself centered with the whole thing, and with a little research on line, I've been able to educate myself about this thing. This forum has been certainly a big help for me. OK, the other thing is that after we talked about this and worked a lot out I figured we'd get him some really suitable things to wear like the girls in our area wear. Some of these things are more unisex than not, and I had my hairdresser co a feminine short hairdo that depending on how it's worked can look either boy or girl. With some makeup lessons, we tried going out like a mother-daughter duo, but to another city about an hour up river from here. This way it would be highly unlikely that anyone would know us and there could be more of a sense of freedom. His surprise was totally noticeable when people addressed him as "miss" and really took us for mother and daughter. Yes, I think it's sorta neat too, I have to confess. I'm really glad that we could actually pull this off the way we did seeing as we live in a rather conservative part of what the coastal folks call the "flyover". Now he's gotten really good this summer with my coaching seeing as I don't want him to look bad ever when doing this. My only worry now is that he's become significantly more feminine through this summer and now school is starting soon. He likes this too much, but I want to keep him from getting hurt by others as this could be possible.

Linda B.
