A few months ago, I did saw a beauty pageant that had a $1500 prize, and I needed the money, since but my daughter (who's 12) refused. I looked at my boys (8 and 3) and wondered if I could get them into pageants. (I was unemployed at the time, since I was laid off.)
My ex refused it, but I told him that if he paid support, I wouldn't do it. He isn't supporting it, but I decided to see if Dennis (my 8 year old) would try it. He was unsure, but I told him that if he's uncomfortable we would stop. Dennis said I could, so that weekend, Jen (my daughter) help me with dressing Dennis. I got him new clothes, but he didn't know, so when he looked at himself (herself?) in the mirror, he couldn't believe it was him (her).
We decided to go out, so Dennis (Thou we called her Denise) was nervous. We took Denise to his favorite place (a park about an hour from here) and she had fun.
Denise, in her first pageant, came in forth (prize was $500), so a few more pageants came and she won two. My 3 year old won three. Since we started, I became a pageant mom and moved in with my gf. We might get her 6 year old into pageants, too.
Denise loves being a girl, but gf and I don't know if we should stop puberty.

Thanks for reading, Katelyn.
