Hey guys!! I really enjoyed reading the text and it is very helpful for my job, since the school i work deals with discourse approach. Some definitions and terms i had heard before, but ofcourse, i could learn new info. I`d like to highlight the definition of discourse that i basically this:

Discourse – can be a piece of word (STOP) or a novel. The notion of sentence is not always relevant, mostly if we consider spoken discourse. A piece of discourse is an instance of spoken and written language that has describable internal relationships of form and meaning (words, structure, cohesion) that relate coherently to an external communicative function or purpose and a given audience.

And this other part about Cook:

Teach pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary to become communicatively competent.
For Cook, discourse analysis is used for drawing attention to the language skills that put user’s knowledge of phonological, grammatical and lexical resources into action whenever language users achieve successful communication.

Thats it!!!
