Dear mates,
I totally agree with you. I remember when I started studying English that there was a misconception around speaking the language with no accent at all. At that time I thought it was something really important to achieve. I had an English teacher who boastfully told that she had been to USA and people hadn't noticed that she was Brazilian because of her perfect English pronunciation, entonation and stress.I can now realize how fool she was trying to convice her students and herself that we should discard our identity as speaker of a foreign language.
Connor-Linton's studies show us that these differences "stablish a sense of solidarity between interlocutors from societies", in such case friendship becomes the joint among peoples in the world.
