Subject: Cara's Lesson on Fame

After Cara mucked out the stall's assigned to her, Sea Star, Step'n'Time, Fame, Dusty, and Morning Star (Morning Star's old name was Precious Beauty but I changed it) she got ready for her "riding lesson" with Fame. She tacked him up, but Chris helped her with the saddle, Mounted, and went to meet her mom at the arena. Her mom usually helped with some jumping and basic dressage. Lucky was waiting on Fire Fly patiently. Cara trotted Fame over. "Hi mom!" she said. Lucky smiled and said "OK, first we're going to try one foot jumps and then maybe 2 foot jumps. "OK," said Cara. There was a small course set up. "now watch, Cara" said Lucky and cantered Fire Fly easily to the course which had 4 and 5 foot jumps but Lucky would adjust them after the demoanstartion. Once she was done she said "Urge him forward a little by lightly squeezing him every once in awhile and stay calm, don't throw your arms over his neck and keep your legs firm so they don't go flying around" said Lucky as she dismounted and adjusted the jumps. Cara nodded. The jumps were adjusted and Lucky watched Cara approach the jumps she cleared every one of them easily but the when she did the 2 foot jump her legs automactically clamped around Fame. "That was great but just keep your leg firm around the horse, don't clamp your knees onto his sides though. It's important to be relaxed." After that Lucky made sure All the jumps were 1 foot high so Cara could practice without super vision while Lucky took Fire Fly to the trails.
