I think that the paper has a duty to cover events that are of interest to its readers. Unfortunately and confusingly, that includes Foooobawwwwl...But they're missing that it also includes Hockey.

I've been to a few roller derby bouts here on the coast, and there are about 40 people in attendance.
That makes the paper. It doesn't have anything to do with how many people were at the event or will be.
I'm certain there are fewer people around here reading about English 'Soccer' scores than checking OUR LEAGUE'S scores, but guess which one makes the paper regularly...

I think that someone being more agressive on the team's end might help matters. I don't know for sure, but is the team sending the articles over? Or making the call so the media knows about whatever events we're hosting at each individual game?
I do agree, though, that there's GOT to be someone there who doesn't care for hockey. I know we were to a point where we were calling daily to complain that the ECHL scores weren't in the paper. And that's like an AP strip or something with NHL,AHL, and ECHL on it. They had to be intentionally removing it.

Another thing; If the team were to become more active in the community again, there would be even more to 'advertise' in the paper.

I'm just really bothered by the fact that there are still people who don't know we have a team here. If it were landing on their welcome mat in the morning, they might actually be interested...then we'd have that audience we need to get our team in print.
