Subject: Thanks for posting here, Katiegirl. I, for one, look forward to the series. Sounds like a role that David can really 'inhabit.' I'm grateful that something has 'broken' for him on a major prime-time front. I'm ready~bring it on! The chance to do something different and refreshing is long overdue. The NZ series seems highly-touted and has been very successful; I only hope that the US version gets adequate promotion, high enough ratings in the summer (where ratings are typically abysmal for most every show just because of the time of year) and strong enough fan response that ABC will choose to pick it up for future episodes. We can only hope. Looking forward to seeing David do something "different"...he's an actor, that's what he does!!

[> I completely understand your points, Katiegirl. As an American who's lived abroad 25 years now, I have learned to really love the way these types of shows are produced in other countries. I used to love 'The Flying Doctors' (this is Australian, I think). From the OF YouTubes, I can see that the show is more realistic and nitty-gritty than what might be produced in the States.. I would think that they will try to keep these aspects as authentic as possible, even if it's Americanized and that DJE's character will be close to Wolf -- not a nice guy, but certainly charismatic, sexy, and the bad boy a girl can't shake. BTW, who plays 'Judd' in the American version. In the kiwi version, he is also quite the hunk. HE is a Maori, tall, dark, and handsiome 'drink of water'!!! The guy who plays Wolf is also hunky!! It seems, though, that Wolf really does love Cheryl and is genuinely interested to keep his family safe, thus, he has some redeeming qualities. inside -- mj, 10:27:54 04/02/10 Fri [1]

Plus, I take it, he leaves the show for awhile and then comes back? Anyhow, I doubt if I'll get to see it unless I'm stateside in June which I MIGHT be. I think DJE could do this role and am looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing it, if possible. I really hope it does well in the States and is a huge sort of 'comeback' for DJE.

[> [> mj - remember I have the advantage of being in the last season ever, so I know what happens. Just let me say that Wolf is very well named. Haven't heard who is doing Judd in the States, but could see Dwayne Johnson, or maybe Scott Lawerence playing that character quite well. Cliff Curtis would be good, but he has Trauma. -- Katiegirl, 17:24:20 04/02/10 Fri [1]
