Subject: Why “Riverdance Star” no longer carries any weight.
In reply to: Watch this space! 's message, "Brand new school coming to Connaught taught by Riverdance dance star!!" on 28/05/25 15:05:15, Wed

We’ve already seen this situation play out multiple times.

By and large:

1. This “Star” moves into an area already saturated with schools.

2. Their flashy promises cause champs to flock to them

3. They use connections (because face it, even getting into Riverdance requires connections now) to get those champs placements.

4. They don’t prioritize teaching beginners because a. That’s not where the glory is and b. Just because you were in Riverdance doesn’t make you a good teacher.

5. All of the stolen champs cycle out of dancing within 10 years. No new champs are coming up through the ranks.

6. The school becomes small and dancers who were “grass is greener” transfer to the next shiny bauble.

Word of advice to “Riverdance Stars”: build your own legacy. It’ll last longer and more people will respect you for it. Set up in a community where there is no CLRG school. Do it right. Be proud of yourself.
