Yes, no one is going to pay more than $1500 for a used dress. And even then, if it’s not less than a year old, you really need to drop the price further.

The buyer is not responsible for your irresponsibly high spending on a BNDM dress your teacher made you buy for kickbacks and political favors.

If you want to sell, swallow your pride and start dropping the price- $50-week until it sells.

Be sure to put the full measurements AND your asking price - most seasoned buyers will skip right over your listing that asks them “PM for information”- it’s a sure sign it’s an overpriced dress.

(Side note: if it is a “unique” dress in any way ie max asymmetry, textured features, dangle sequins, stoles, large bows, Flames, Printed fabric, super bright, Red/green color scheme, etc. it will need major discount. )

  • Everyone seems to want a nearly brand new dress for cheap. We struggle every year to sell dresses for a decent price. (NT) -- Ugh, 23/12/25 13:10:27, Tue
  • Its what the market will bear - lots of supply = lower prices. I'm always shocked at folks trying to sell a dress worn for a year + for nearly 2k. LOL (NT) -- vvb, 23/12/25 16:04:25, Tue
