I had this issue with my daughters hair. A huge chunk of my daughters hair came away after wearing the wig all day at worlds. I think the hair tie also contributes massively to this.
I consulted a hair specialist and purchased some products from the Universal Hair and Scalp Clinic. The Unichol Hair loss tonic was excellent. Basically they said the hair follicles roots were damaged and needed to be repaired. After using the tonic daily and shampoo and conditioner for a few weeks the hair started to come back. Her hair is perfect again now.
Use good quality hair ties - never use ties with metal bits or glitter. These pull the hair.
Use as few pins as possible to secure the wig. How you remove the wig etc is also really important, and always carefully cut the hair tie out with an scissors after - dont pull it out.
I am so conscious of what happened so i am really careful now removing the wig. And it has never happened since. I hope this helps.
