Subject: Because we've made it so that everyone aspires to get to the Worlds, because we've made it relatively easy.

Every kid starting football wants to play for their country at the World Cup, but most realise very early in life that that's not going to happen. Likewise every kid taking gymnastics, tennis, whatever.

Their competitions are structured so that everyone can experience 'success' WITHOUT everyone getting to the upper echelons. Not every talented county-level runner expects to one day go to the Olympics, but any talented Irish dancer does.

In Irish dancing you're no-one if you're not at the Worlds. It shouldn't be that way.

There should be more tiers of competition and more opportunity to make and reach attainable goals.

Making it easy (relative to those other spots) to get to the Worlds is probably also what drives cheating and favours. The competitions are huge and its human nature to miss someone - unless you've been told to look for that person.
