This feels familiar. We took our 3 dancers out of a school where the TC's were so checked out and seemed to only care about making sure the class sizes were as big as possible, dancers progressed as slowly through the ranks as possible, and excellence was a carrot dangling juuuuust out of reach to keep enrollment high. We drank the Kool-Aid until we didn't and now see how abysmal they do at majors (only 5-10% of their dancers recall at the Oireachtas every year!) They've since been spreading all kinds of nasty rumours about us throughout the old school and through our small town. I'm so glad we took our kids out of such a toxic environment where trying to stretch beyond mediocrity is seen as being too big for your boots or getting notions.
