Subject: International Championships are for people too young to become World Champions. They dance a simplified syllabus
In reply to: Sounds like everyone and anyone can be a champion. 's message, "What is the difference between WiDA, world and international champions?" on 18/04/26 22:10:23, Sat

They are the only International Champions. It is a holder from when WIDA was smaller and had two championships back to back: The European Championships and Worlds. Dancers competing in Worlds had to also compete in the European Championships so they had to prep two different sets of Championship material. When the European Championships stopped being offered, the International Championships started as a opportunity for dancers u10 to have a championship.
There is also an International Feis before worlds starts, but WIDA has repeatedly made it clear that placements from that feis aren't formally recognized as any kind of title holders. Schools may post otherwise, but that is on them.
