All dancers get ID cards to wear round their neck that indicate they are dancers so they can come and go as they please.. these double as their numbers when they are dancing so they are sure not to lose them....and of course they don't need a spectators fee.
As an option with entries you can Pre pay spectators entry for up to four people ( usually thats enough for parents and a couple of siblings or even a couple a grandparents) .. this would get them all wristbands so that they can come and go as they please.
Otherwise, a ticket booth so those without wristbands can purchase entry and get a stamp for the day they are there.

We figure that families who are coming from any distance, might have children competing on different days would probably prefer to pay before they get here = less hassle. Local dancers are more likely to just get what they need on the days they need. But you never know if average Joe who just thinks they might like to see what its all about wants to come and have a look, so they can still buy tickets too so its not just the dance families that end up paying for all the spectators. By having prepayment as an option it makes it easier for dancers to work out who is coming / not coming. For dancers who travel with their TC or as a group with another family, it means they don't have an extra fee for something that they are not even using.

Your ticket seller / wristband checkers can be senior dancers too.... or dads. Sometimes dads feel left out of the whole thing so this gives them something to do as well.
