Hey Joel, sounds like an excuse to me on Kyle's part saying his feelings were hurt. My bet is he wanted to whip your ass for several of those whippings he got while you got a grounding. Using a strap that whupped your dad's butt is probably as close a dad whipping you'll get. You have any visions of that strap when Kyle was over your lap getting his birthday paddling on Thursday?
