Hey Steve- Thanks for the congrats on my being selected to serve on the Homecoming Court. Yes, it is an honor!
As for Joel, and why he is so upset I guess I'll have to see wht's wrong with our buddy over the weekend and see if I can drag it out of him!
He's been smart and didn't go the office and decline the honor, thank goodness! He deserves it as much as anyone else.
I hope I didn't over react in my letting you know about Joel NOT want the honor, but there's more to it then we both think, especially when we now know that it contributed to Joel not having his head in not playing the football game like he was suppose to do.
Don't think I didn't think about calling him a "WHOOSE" to get him mad to help accept the honor. Those have always been "fighting" words to that little sucker all his life! And I guess over reacted wanting to "pound" his butt, but a chance like this doesn't come everyday in a guys life, so Joel needs to TAKE IT!
Steve, our parents are so excited about this. They should be. And its going to be fun for them as Joel's parents get to walk him across the football field to receive the honor and my parents get to do me to. It's going to be awesome.
So I'll see what's the matter with the little "whoose" over the weekend, while we work on his football skills. Try to get Sean over here to. His parents are proud he's in the Homecoming Court, besides Matt and Dustin's parents too.
So maybe when you get back from your long weekend on Monday or Tuesday I'll have an answer? I didn't mean to be "alarming" but you always have good advice to try. I can't go to Joel's folks to tell them, lucky Joel has been smart not to talk about what's bothering him. I know he shoud be able to go to his parents for things, and he does, but this is one thing you don't a parent to know about and wonder why their kid wants to decline the honor. It's probably something simple, and maybe not important to us that Joel wants to decline the offer, but its important to him, and we need to know what it is to help him think this through.
He's usually a level-headed guy, so we'll see what it is all about.
Talk to you later.
