Spencer, Zack, and Corey,

You ask, "Why should Joel have to pay a price for a grudge by a
man, whom Joel and his family consider a second
family?" The fact is, he HAS been paying the price for that ever since it happened. THIS SHOULD NOT CONTINUE. Unfortunately, it isn't going to stop if nothing at all is done.
>
I would like to offer you an example. Let's say that my doctor tells me that I need triple by-pass surgery. Without it, I will die. With the surgery, I could die on the operating table. Should I have the surgery or not? The price of doing nothing (not having the operation) means I am going to die. The risk involved in having the operation means I could die. If that were to happen would you guys be saying, "You might die on the operating table, Bill. Don't have the operation."? (Just so you know, I'm OK. The preceeding was just an example.)
>
In Joel's case the immediate price of doing nothing means the comments and looks from Kyle's dad will likely continue. I am concerned about the long term. My concern is that the long-term price of doing nothing will probably end up with Joel deciding one day when Kyle's dad gives him one of those looks or makes one of those comments that he has had it and he will lose it and unload on Kyle's dad with a few choice words. Do you really want to see THAT happen? Wouldn't that make Kyle's dad dig in all the more? (I can see it now. Kyle's dad saying that Joel can't control his temper. He's disrespectful. He still needs a good belt whippin'.)
>
I don't want to see this continue to eat away at Joel. The best thing he can do for himself and those around him is to get this out and talk to Kyle's dad in a calm and rational manner. Yes there is a risk involved but it is one Joel has to take. Kyle's dad apparently isn't going to let it go. This is not a problem that Joel caused. It is one that he inherited but for better or worse it is on his shoulders.
