Spencer-- Steve, I'm not condemning Speed Traps, and Luke and Joel didn't know there was a speed trap, but also in the original post I believe Joel and Luke mentioned the stretch of high the Speed Trap was on was a botton of a hill, so really Luke was just going a little over the speed limit, probably should have applied brakes to slow down.

I have drove down hills on high ways without slowing down some and then resumed in the speed limit on the rest of the road, so was the police not 'giving in' to drivers to see if they might reduce speed in the speed limit after the hill or thought it was great way to give tickets?

I am proud Luke wants to accept responsiblity and told his dad about the ticket, and Joel took responsiblity to help tell about ticket, so why wasn't Luke's dad all over Joel's ass for letting Luke drive? He didn't tell Joel that Luke shouldn't be driving, DID HE?

So your saying that Luke's dad owes Joel's ass a paddling for letting Luke drive?

If Joel needed his ass paddled by Luke's dad, if didn't happen did it and if Luke's dad didn't want to paddle Joel he could have went to Joel's dad and ask him to paddle Joel, but he didn't!

Zack to Steve: Yes, Joel said he would not have been speeding IF he was driving, but nobody knows, and even Joel now, if he would have been driving would he have gone over the speed limit coming down the hill 8-10mp over the speed limit and gotten a ticket, instead of Luke.

It would be a 50/50 chance Joel would not be speeding or be speeding.

Wonder what a jury would decided on this matter?

As for Joel neding his ass paddled, it didn't happen and it was not brought up by Luke's dad, who pointed out to Luke that sometimes tickets happen, and Luke just happened to get one.

Had Luke's dad been really ballistic about Luke getting the ticket I'm sure Luke's dad would take his license away for a while or limit his driving as a punishment, but he had faith in Luke that he was a good driver and showed that to him and he even didn't want to paddle Luke, but Luke WANTED him to to make him 'feel better'.

So, are you saying Joel needs to go to Luke's dad and say, "paddle my ass, I let Luke drive and caused him to get a speeding ticket?"
