Hey Joel, you made it almost half way toward those 20 game points you need--congratulations little brother. I know 9 is not up to your par but damn good when little ass is dragging some with a head cold. Lots of people Rick & I have seen or talked to had similar symptoms in head, throat, chest & I know I pushed myself hard despite being on antibiotics & recovered slower than I probably could have had I just hit the bed early on & take care of myself. Even at 23, mom felt the right to chew me out some going to work rather than resting like I should have. Got to admit, even as a big guy, it's nice to have mom fuss over me a little once she got back Wednesday.

Did you scare your coach or teammates when you went down in the locker room? Did your folks get called to take you to the hospital or coach/ambulance take you & folks meet you there? So they shot your ass that evening to get the antibiotic fast into your system--makes sense. At 18 it would have been funny to put up a fuss over a needle. At least it was just a needle rather than the paddle once nare. Was it a male doctor/nurse that shot your butt or did you 'moon' the fairer sex with your athletic posterior?

Sounds like dad was serious & you were listening!! Think you would have followed those instructions as closely 6 months or so ago before the paddle entered your life?

Glad you are on the mend. Me too now. That's the smart route you took little bro & I'm proud of you taking the meds & resting as told. Proud because you took the task to hand in a responsible way as a young man would & not just because dad might tan your ass if you didn't. Wish I would have taken more time off & rested so my meds had worked faster with me. Rick chewed me out & I knew I had it coming. Guess that's what makes me a pain in the ass at times or as Rick say, a hemmorroid.

>I would appreciate hearing from you Big Brothers and
>other buddies to leave me messages and PRAYERS to help

You know you got'em little bro!!

>I have learned that it would have been better to share
>my other health questions prior to basketball
>practices and the game, and I've learned a value
>lesson from this experience!

You'll learn that lesson even more if you discover any of the guys (or worse Holly) caught something from you once you're back in the outside world.

>Why does it seem I always need some kind of a "wakeup
>call" to realize what I should have really done in the
>first place before all of this stuff started?

Cause you're still a teen & think of yourself as invincible just as I did & Rick did & most guys do at that age. I think I ask myself that question too growing up, especially those two time sent to the principal or waiting for dad in my room as to whether my little hide was getting grounded to room solitary confinement or whupped.

>good excuse why he didn't leave a message for you
>guys, so any ideas what it should be?

Luke must still be going thru something in life. Rick commented he never really got back or answered Rick's message fully. I'm beginning to think Luke might have some problems he's hiding out of shame or confusion. Hope I'm wrong & that his little butt just needs a kicking to jar his 17 y/o brain but go easy with him dudes cause he might be crying inside while fronting a tough exterior & needing buds who understand & not criticize/chew him out.
