Subject: Joel & Kyle

Hey There Little Bros...bet its a relief having exams over. This is seeming odd for me cause I'm usually on the little bro side in such talks but want to have a big bro talk with you both...ok?

Joel--I understand the prank Sean & Kyle pulled & yes, it was wrong & think they now realize & yes, deserved their big jock asses paddled. What the hell were you thinking dude once back in the dorm & taking a swing on Kyle? He's like your twin brother almost since you had no siblings & you guys have been there for each other in good & rough times from what you've said. Kyle defended your honor & stood by you during the unfortunate Thanksgiving experience on the farm & was laughing his butt off at the door so damn proud of you standing up to your dad for the talk & paddling last month. He even made the paddle. From what I read, you blew it throwing the first punch & it took Sean & Luke apparently to separate you dudes. You're 17 Joel, not some immature school yard thug or bully. You're a sport's captain & you got the honor by showing skill & leadership. What kind of example did you show in that dorm room? You were acting more like an immature spoiled brat than the HS senior & talented jock we know you are. Who would rush for the autograph of a brawler who apparently got knocked on his rear & a black eye or have you forgotten those who looked up to you last spring when you were a school champ?

Kyle--you & Sean were stupid pulling that prank & putting good good buddies & teammates at risk. I know it was a fun game & no malice intended but you're 18 & old enough to know better. I know others have pulled this same prank at 18 or older but that's no excuse for you--a leader/senior & star jock in your own right. People have looked up to you to admire your achievements & rightfully so. As the older one & likely Joel's closest friend, you had the responsibility to check this fight when it first started. Joel had no right to swing first but you were no more mature or responsible in tossing him into the wall or swinging back to blacken his eye some. I know you said you ended up with a sore punched nose out of the deal--that's really a big accomplishment for brawling like a school yard bully yourself. Bet your dad would hang your butt out to dry if he knew what went on in that dorm--right?

What if dorm staff would have heard & called campus police? What if furniture or other property in room got broke? Coach or a parent chaperone walked in to break up rather than Sean & Luke? Word got back to your school or college told coach to board your team back on a bus & leave? Risk dudes--not only for yourself but your team & school all over a prank & some young hot-heads acting out.

Seniors, with everything going for you & your future. Was it worth you initiating Joel & you Kyle joining in to prolong? Joel, your old man didn't whip your ass as a kid but what you did in short-time order that night deserves a whipping to keep your young butt standing a few days. Kyle, your old man never hesitated, it sounds from what you've said in past, to take your bare ass for a whipping when you got a little too big for your britches.

I've been damn proud of you both & still am. This was a big mistake & probably will never happen again. I'm not experienced giving big bro talks but Rick & dad have dished a few my way when needed growing up & I deserved them too. Hope I left you both some ass to sit comfortable on after this chewing. If I were Luke & apparently the only one of you 4 showing enough sense when it comes to what's fun & not a harmful prank or fighting like a couple bratty kids, I'd show you both a good example, since you both have been a little short on good examples lately, what an old fashion little boy ass whuppin means.

Enough said---now you both hang tough like you've done over the years as brothers to each other & stay focused & on track with studies & sports. You both have one hell of a future if you don't shoot yourself in the foot any more with a head not fully screwed on.
