She was looking straight at me. I could feel my heart drop into my stomach. Not the most pleasant of sensations, mind you. But her words worried me even more. Nervous? Was it that obvious? She probably thinks I'm hiding something. Shoot. She probably thinks I have a gun...or I'm going to mug her! I bit my lip. Noo...then she wouldn't be talking to me if that were the case. Still, my hazel eyes avoided her sky-like orbs.

"I'm just..." I couldn't put it into a sentence that didn't sound pathetic. Scared...lost...lonely...pathetic? "I'm...new to the city." I folded my hands and left them in my lap, face looking downward, eying the floor. I felt bad, to say the least, not talking to much to her. Was it rude? Did she want to talk? I realized she didn't even know my name. I turned slowly to her, letting a small smile touch my lips. "I'm Bradley Smythe."

Still shy as hell. I thought. This was exactly what my friend Hyde would say.
