He kissed her lips deeply, savoring the way her lower lip fit between his. He wanted to do more but realized outside this seedy club was not the place. So she locked arms with his woman and began their stroll homewards. He held her tight to him and never took his eyes away from her vibrant smile. “I love you too, baby. I missed you. Next time, you should come to. Would you like that?”

They strolled through the bright city lights towards the outskirts of town, back to the safety of the warehouses’ property line. He was eager to rediscover her body but was more releived by the fact that he was with her again. The night was warm and the smell of potted window boxes caught their senses. The wind was light, the night was quiet, and all seemed perfect.

Ahead he could see the chain fence that sat as a property boarder for their land. He could feel the trickle of fairy dust and the hint of magic protecting it but thought nothing of it. Vines were creeping up the fence slowly in the night, their blue flowers closed tight until morning. After the cleared the last tall building, the sea air hit them. “Baby, want to go to the pier? It’s too nice to go just yet” Maybe it was the fact that he was vampire that the dark hours shouldn’t be wasted. Or maybe he just really wanted to spend time with his beautiful wife.
