The Loft The Cellar The Coven's Enterance Image Map

Darkness Is Coming To Swallow The World

Located in the older more dilapidated section of the business district, a structure stands amongst crumbling buildings and intimidating alleyways. At its pinnacle, its façade had been painted a rich scarlet hue, illuminated with halogen bulbs for that warm welcoming appearance. Those familiar with the building would not recognize it for what it has become.

As In A Blinding Flash Of Light The World Came Remade

On the ground floor The Velvet Underworld offers food, drink, and entertainment. However, no one ever comes for the food, as the menu is really very limited. Up front there are a few booths, tables, a bar, and a small stage where there are occasional live performances. For specific reasons, the building is kept fairly dark, just light enough to keep a human from tripping. Located in the back is a massive figure, blocking off an even darker vestibule. If one is fortunate enough to gain admittance to this section of the structure, they will have access to the more adult entertainment The Velvet Underworld has to offer.

Down From Above

There are limited routes to entering the basement of the structure. One is through the various trap doors randomly located through the ground floor. The second is around back down a narrow alley, where a dark figure camouflaged as a hobo guards the stairway. Finally, the other entrance is even more closely guarded and a secret. The Cellar is strictly for those of Darkness and their prey.

So Angels Kiss The Brows & Lips And Pull The Strings Inside

Above the ground floor are rooms for The Velvet Underworld’s employees. On the third floor is a large rather plain loft apartment. Everything there is immaculate and rather sterile in appearance. Upon walls, windows, and locks dark wards are placed, preventing those without permission to enter and for those who are allowed entry, those same talismans neutralize foreign magicks.

The looming building looked at home with the dreary, rain swollen clouds and lightening tearing up the skies above. It looked delapitated and seemed pretty empty, judgeing from the parkinglot. He swung the 1970 Plymouth Barricude 440 into one of the many spots of available. Freb had hooked him up with a ride for when he'd been released from the pen, and damn if he hadn't done a good job. The old girl was red as blood and every bit as fast as you could hope for. She had a nice little purr, too.

Getting out and locking the classic, he moved for the establishment ahead. He'd thought of just biting the bullet and heading straight to the old house he and Perg and all the crew had shared so many years ago, but in the end he had figured it would be best if got a drink before attempting that business. It would be hard to see the old house, if it even still existed. It'd been a home to them, and a couple of botched boosts had put and to it. He'd been an ambitious son of a bitch back then, and that had turned to carelessness.

Sense of duty had had him pay for the transgressions of them all. The Feds had hunted some after his capture, but had ultimately been satisfied with having him--the ringleader. It was a sacrifice that he had been willing to make for the sake of those he loved.

He wondered if Perg would still inhabit the old house. She was a strong woman, damn strong. He'd be lucky if she didn't tear him limb from limb if she got her sights on him. And she could do it, too. He had no doubt of that.

He moved up to the bar, putting a fivespot on the counter. "Vodka. On the rocks." A beer would be nice, but he didn't have the time to savor it right now. He watched the bartender move off to fill his order, falling back into thoughts of what he needed to do in the coming hours, and the past he'd be forced to face.

Okay, so last time she had dared to show her face in this bar she had attempted to start a riot. Overthrow a monarch, yadda, yadda, yadda. And so probably they would not exactly welcome her with open arms.
Easing the door open the woman peered inside, finding it relatively quiet. The perfect atmosphere. She was not here to start trouble, at least not at that particular moment. Instead she crept forward securing herself a place at the bar. She settled at the end, with a wall on one side and a clear view of the door. Just in case a hasty exit was required. The blonde pushed her hair back securing a white headband over the unruly locks. Waving down the bartender she flashed an ID and waited for a drink and food while surveying the crowd for a familiar face or two.

The apartment loft had grown boring. Zeth, lost in his work and art, had been gone longer than usual. Tarot had all but disappeared. Even Zeth’s employee and friend hadn’t stopped by to say hello - things had gotten very lonely for the blonde immortal. Something she – while use to – did not enjoy. So in need of interaction along with conversation the curved yet elegant dressed blonde had made her way into her old work establishment. She’d have gone to Club Alien but doubted Angelina would want to see her yet again – after all the last time she’d appeared she’d chunked furniture around, with the help of Brillian.

The establishment was now owned by her son – if Alicia remembered correctly, which she did. After all she’d had to come here in an odd attempt of rescuing her husband and the father of the now owner some months back. The fact she dared to show up again proved just how bored the female had become. After all there was only so much star gazing one could do or cleaning that could be done, and one couldn’t make babies all on their own – at least she couldn’t.

So a drink was all that was left – something she did not wish to do alone – for now. Slipping to a nearby wall close to the stage, Alicia took a seat and waited. She could have gone to the bar, but figured doing so was a little too bold. Let the service come to her or at the very least the trouble.

She'd been reading. Waiting for Zeth to return from another trip. She hadn't thought anything about it, though the silent pain and fear had always been a few thoughts away. The book dropped as the mental plea hit her. "Zeth!" She called out. Searching for the location and source of his trouble. She knew it was her husband and she knew he was in Cascade City, but where she wasn't fully sure. Though she got a sickening feeling where she should look first. A place Brillian had once called her own, though if he was there he had probably been enjoying their adult pleasures. Biting her lip she closed her eyes. Searching, but nothing came up. The trail and literally grown cold.

Straightening out her dress and grabbing the keys to the rental car – she’d have to ask Zeth for car keys later, Alicia headed down the strip towards VU, a place she had not visited since putting up her apron and waitress pad and especially not since becoming Zeth’s wife, well save that one friendly visit with Kael…which had been ages ago. Pushing aside the door Alicia blinked, letting her eyes adjust to the darker atmosphere. Sapphire and emerald eyes glancing around, spotting the bouncer like figure towards the back but nothing more, maybe she’d been wrong in thinking Zeth was here. After all not even the owner – whomever it was now – was present.

“Hello?” She asked softly, no fear present, though solid respect and caution had caused the hair on the back of her neck to stand up.

The ashen fleshed figure had remained where he had left her hours ago; slender digits had curled around the ivory linens, her manicured nails pressed into the flesh of her hand. Dampened light seeped in through the loft’s frosted windows, scarcely illuminating the abused figure sprawled out on her belly. Midnight strands contrasted sharply against her flesh and the linens. Upon her flesh, hues of blackberry stained the canvas along with the phantoms of past trysts. A dull ache throbbed between her bronze hued eyes; an ever present reminder of the curls of silver cuffed around her ankle. The shackle possessed just enough iron to imprison and remind her of it without searing into her flesh. Without any effort, he could compel her to give him what he wanted or to allow herself to be taken by another while he watched; all because of a few swirls of metal wrapped around her limb and her own foolishness.

Disturbing the stillness , slender digits pulled the rose hued fabric from the wood floor up over her stained limbs and fastened the clasps to keep it wrapped around her shoulders. Shifting weight from one foot to the other, the creature slipped out the loft and down to the main floor, not paying any attention to the brownies who were quick at work to clean up the mess. The steps creaked beneath her toes and Elvanolin did not give a damn. A brief glance in the mirror confirmed her suspicions; she looked like hell.

Bony digits slipped a glass of rakia in her hand. She did not have to glance upon the old troll’s features as she brought the drink to her lips. It warmed her from the inside, melting away the chill Lucian had placed there. She could still feel him on her, pressing her into the mattress; his fingers around her throat. And yet, not a whimper passed those full lips. Even as his tongue trailed up the back of her knee and up her thigh, nothing. Elvanolin no longer lay there, the center of his wicked attention. At least, she was relatively alone for the moment.

It had been a short walk across the busy city from the sandy beach to the scarlet tinged building of the bar. This part of the city wasn’t desirable locale but, in the fading daylight, it was innocent enough. Lezedi had followed the woman to the boarded beach walk where he’d acquired his discarded shoes and socks but had not changed his attire in any other way. The walk had been pleasant enough and the conversation had not lulled or been strangled out by awkwardness. He had even held the heavy door open for her as they stepped into the establishment that had seen too many good times to count.

The shadows in the room ebbed and flowed as the appearance of the second born brother crept onto the old wooden floors. His grey orbs struck against the bar and kitchen door before swiveling around to the count the heads in the room. It wasn’t a busy night. He was relieved for several reasons. But where was his brother?

“Natasha, please, take a seat.” He indicated to a nearby table and pulled the wooden seat out for her. He waited until she was seat befor pushing the chair in with uncanningly good timing. He slung himself in the opposing one and lifted two sculpted fingers to indicate that someone should take their order. He waited, his smiled fixed on Natasha's beautiful face. Then, when the woman was close enough, he spoke. “I’ll have the house salad-- no onions--ranch. add cheese …and the young lady will take…” his eyes met with her Natasha's and his smile was debonair and charming. He was literally oozing class as he handed her an open menu. Was it coincidence that it was open to the salad section?

warddrobe

August had revealed itself to be a traitor among the summer months. It was morning, but first light was still hours away. It was chilly and unlike summer. The air was humid and moisture and stuck to everything it had a chance to come into contact with. Zeth could feel the little beads of it collecting on his cold face. He made no effort to remove them. He wished he could hold back the burning desire that nagged at his conscience. He felt a guilt but a sense of accomplishment. It was these feelings that spurred his movements down the dark alleyways. He stepped over bricks of a tall building that had crumbled in the darkness. He wove an intricate and followable path through the darkness. It was 5:30 and he had no where else to be so it was a welcome scene to find the scarlet building's light still burning. Shadows were cast by the flights of insects that collided with the bulbs and fell down to the earth. But there attempts would never be translated. Zeth wondered briefly, as his hand met with the door's handle, what those insects had done for entertainment before Edison had come along.

There was a spark of recognition that the door was still unlocked. He hadn't expected anything else but surely there was a closing time. He stepped in and shrugged off his gray lightweight jacket. This action revealed the black buttoned vest and the white collared shirt he'd taken from his studio a half hour ago. He brushed brown tennis shoes against the entrance carpet before stepping further into the empty bar. He remembered the layout and the structure and noted the changes with a quick glance. He moved to the closest chair and threw his jacket over it. He took a seat. He needed some liquid courage to help him get home to Alicia.

Yes, the bar had a bad reputation. Yes, Lyla was feeling dangerous as she walked through the door. No, it wasn’t Lyla’s idea. Normally she wasn’t the type to do completely rash things like this. In truth it could all be blamed on Silver who had just sauntered through the door Lyla was holding open. Silver had this confidence about her that made Lyla tag along in her shadow. She was so in control of herself that Lyla, mistakenly, thought she could control the world around her. She was fascinated by the attire and attitude the girl commandeered with uncanny ease. Lyla wanted to be like that. Lyla’s eyes roamed the building. It didn’t seem as seedy as the word on the street made it seem. It was rather quaint actually. And what about the patrons? Well, they weren’t huddled in the corner casting shady glances and holding knifes. Lyla followed Silver to a booth. “Now what?”
