Obviously the different versions can't all be right - possibly none of them are right. I try to go way back to the ORIGINAL idea about Christianity by Jesus the Jew for deserving Jews.

Ask God!

>>>To go to heaven, what must one do/not do?<<<
If you mean the Kingdom of God, see Acts 2:44-47 and Acts 4:32-37. It mentions a specific lifestyle that is the essence of the first, or nearly the first version of Christianity. Later versions have different speculations. If you're interested we can discuss this further in more detail.

>>>>Is the only source of 'proof' of god the bible?<<<
The bible is not a book but a collection of many books by many authors. If it is true that God inspired the authors, then it is also true that God has ever since inspired/communicated with people, and these more recent communications must not be ignored. They may replace or at least revise some or all of the ancient texts, their many copies and their many translations.

You're welcome! Talking about what?
