Subject: Actually, I am not a volunteer nor a paid staff member. I am a former Miss who wishes I lived close enough to volunteer for these wonderful people. Get out there and volunteer or talk to the board face to face rather on a message board about your concerns.

I've seen volunteers come go. Some, not all but some, volunteered for the wrong reasons. If you volunteer expecting something out of it, you will always be disappointed in the end and walk away with a bad feeling about the situation. Volunteering is giving of yourself with absolutely no expectations of anything in return. A lot of people miss that. It is a thankless job. It truly is. And i wouldn't say they are "old school". Sure, there are always way to improve and grow but there are a lot of us who like to see the tradition of Miss America honored.
