God Bless you Kayla. You are an inspiration. My little girl loves to do pageants -- she begs to do them and loves the talent portion. We focus on pageants that enhance natural beauty, community service, talent, etc. (no tanning, flippers, etc for us -- not judging those that do, just not where we go with pagentry for us).
When she was little, I would use headbands and just knew anyday that my daughter would have long flowing hair. That day came to a halt when her doctor said she has LAS (loose anagen hair syndrome). She is more fortunate than most, hers does not fall out, but is thin. Very thin in spots.
I have to style her hair a certain way or you see scalp.
She will be 6 in about a week and when she competes we use hair pieces when we are allowed.
Tonight she watched every bit of Miss America. Her first time doing so. She was in awe, she was inspired. So please know that you touched a little five year old girl in Kentucky (and mommy too).
