Subject: How many locals do we have left? There are a couple of girls that I still want to see crowned. I know DE always tries to follow the rules but I wish we could just break them! It's so hard to find contestants and it just seems unfair that directors have to have 3 contestants per title.

I feel the state should go to open auditions or limit the locals to 12. I feel quality is better than quantity, but realize Dover DOwns expects 2 nights of prelims so the board really has to stretch to get at least 15 or more contestants. Some of the last winners have competed in every prelim. It just seems silly. (NT)Just my opinion09:12:47 03/15/11 Tue
I would rather see less locals - between 10 and 12 and a one night state pageant held at a new location like maybe University of De or De State. THere are so many lovely "local" theaters in towns that would be a great venue for the state pageant. (NT)**15:31:53 03/24/11 Thu
The only problem is that less contestants means that you don't have a Top 10. If I'm not mistaken there are Miss America rules that say you can only have a Top 10 if you have 16 girls. I love having a Top 10 because more girls are able to get recognition and kudos for their hard work. (NT)my two cents10:49:51 03/25/11 Fri
