what about when 2 or more kids are from the same school same age group same level and 1 favourite child gets the 'harder steps' and the other children are all given the same basic boring steps (or a variation of them) these kids are executing their steps correctly week in week out but of course the harder steps will place higher because that is all that separates the kids. they are all beautiful dancers and can all execute their steps beautifully but they can only do so much with what the have been given. they are fighting a losing battle because adj will always place the more difficult steps higher when execution levels are on par. if the other kids were given the more difficult steps it would be clear to see that the favourite is not better they just simply have an advantage. this is plain to see in dances where all steps are the same across the board (e.g trad set) the other kids place higher than the favourite time and time again. it is unfair and leaving the other kids at a disadvantage. simple as.
