Also during the 90's and early 2000's I would go to our local Bonton store at Christmas and purchase several "I can't Believe it's a Girdle" Girdles and ask for the a gift box at the same time. No one ever questioned purchasing ladies garments and a lot of times I got some winks and smiles about having good taste for my wife. Would later go to Kohl's and get several Lace Top Thigh High Stockings from Hanes. These girdles were so lightweight that I thought they would be no good. Wrong, these girdles were fabulous. I wore Playtex till the early 2020's when they started to wear out and long after the were discontinued. I now wear Rago daily. Can still get the stockings though. Nearly all my purchases are on-line now since our local stores don't carry regular girdles. The stuff sold in stores is completely worthless and for the most part, they don't even carry a regular girdle. Maidenform is not a girdle, just some thin fabric that makes you sweat a lot. The last corset shop we had ended when elevator operators were replaced by modern electronics back in the late 60's. Shopping online today is so easy so I would hope more people would start wearing girdles.
