Hi,
Maybe I'm crazy but, many months ago I was attacked by my female cat and she hit a vein. Blood was squirting all over the place. I got it stopped and my hand was hurting. Not wanting to go to the hospital, I put myself on some Azithromyacin pills and waited a day. WELL.....That did nothing since I began to see redness going up my arm and I couldn't move my fingers. Oh well, to the hospital I went. They put me on intravenous antibiotics for a few hours and asked when I got my last Tetanus shot! I knew if I said recently, I was off the hook but, I couldn't get myself to lie....lol So I said the famous words "I don't remember." So they said well, you're getting one today. GRRRRRRRR
Anyway, hours had passed while they hooked up my intravenous and the scary part was that I didn't know "when" the nurse was going to take out a needle! Everytime I thought, "this is it," she didn't do it. But she did come over to me and said, I am afraid I am going to have to be the bad guy today, I'm going to have to give you a Tetanus shot. That made me real nervous because it made me think, "how much is this going top hurt"? Well anyway, it wasn't until 20 minutes later where she came over to me and said, "okay I have your shot." NOW I WAS NERVOUS! So she swabs my arm, I'm getting ready to potentially faint, and she gives me the shot. I thought to myself, that's it? I said to her, I didn't feel a thing! She laughed and said good.
My point is, why are there tons of posts about getting Tetanus shots when they simple are not a painful shot. In fact, I'm sure many people don't feel them at all? So what's the big deal about that shot?
If people were going to talk about any shot, I would think it would be either Penicillin, Recephin, or at least HPV????? Please explain????
Thanks
Tim
