 Throughout my youth and adolescence I also got all injections in the bottom (penicillin when I was ill and booster shots when I wasn't). I never saw how long the needle was because I had to bend over the receptionist's lap before it was prepared. The embarrassment of a girl watching me get it in the bare bottom was always worse than the pain of the injection but I was often unable to sit down after getting it.

I got plenty of shots growing up and all of them in the rear. I never had to bend over the receptionists lap and I never experienced excruciating pain. The worst part was the embarrassment of having to lower my pants in front of the nurse and my mother. It seemed that both of them enjoyed the sight of me with my pants down
