In reply to: Bryan 's message, "True. A 1991 Caprice is 11 years old, but as you stated yourself you live in a place where 94 to 96s are still in service" on 22:00:28 08/28/02 Wed

I've been to plenty of shows where there are tons of brand new cars, just off the showroom floor. In fact, they even have classes for them, (1990+ car or truck). At the Beat The Heat car show in Texas in June, the top prize, for the entire show (mixed police and civilian cars), went to a brand new GMC Yukon K9 unit from Pantego. They do nothing to the vehicle. It comes out of the dealer on loan complete with all police equipment, lettering etc. They stand around and polish it. But the public saw fit to vote it best of show over some very nice 1950s/1960s Vettes, T-birds, etc.
