Florida is tough, since BP has given the hobby a bad reputation there. Blue lights are illegal and they even arrested him for that. VCSO isn't going to call you. They aren't going to want a car running around with their markings, no matter what the reason. I doubt there is a law anywhere that specifically says "after such and such years, you can put the decals back on". But even still, you can probably find a few of the M body diplomats/gran fury's in servioce, even if they are unmarked. So an 87 would still be considered fairly new and not something that the general public would recognize as an antique/restored/out of service vehicle.

Chances are if you mark your car to volusia county and put a blue light on it, you'll have it siezed and off to jail you'll go. Especially volusia, since that is where BP has already majorly pissed off the cops.
