In reply to: I.N. Query 's message, "Question for the group. Is there really any point in trying to salvage a police car that has no engine and drive train?" on 11:40:53 07/22/02 Mon

You can't find any of the old Mopar cop cars because they were either used as Taxi's, beat to hell by the next owners, or the motors were used for Muscle Car projects. If the only copcar you can find is one minus motor and tranny, then why not try and restore it? My Fury is minus motor and tranny, although I can get the original motor and tranny back. Sure, it is more of a project. But one more old Mopar copcar saved!

Ed Sanow stated in his book on restoring squads that certain departments are 'Blue Chip'...........CHP, LAPD, RCMP, NYPD, come to mind if the car in question was actually used by the department in question............and, of course: ANY high performance big block ex-squad qualifies as well......... My bad: I left out something...........as Rick pointed out.............the candidate should have a reasonably undamaged body...........mechanicals are easy by comparision. (NT)Bearhawke20:20:54 07/22/02 Mon
