Date Posted: 16:55:38 01/29/14 Wed I have read so many of the posts here recently. It just makes my heart heavy and so so so sad. I have always heard and seen the girls competing in this system sharing about the life long friends they have made and the wonderful mentors and relationships they form along the way. If someone reads this board I can only think that must be a lie. Is this really Kentucky? Are these really the girls competing in this system and who want to represent KY as a role model? Are these the thoughts that truly rule your hearts? These comments are so full of venom and hate. True hate seems to be so obvious. I realize this is a competition and not every post is from a competitor but many are and many from relatives and directors. Most comments are from someone closely connected to the system through a competitor. What an awful thing to see. We always hear the question what is character? It's who you are when no one else is looking. Is this who you are? Truly? What is your true motive here? We have stooped so low as to start picking on peoples choices of mentors and coaches? Honestly, people, please please be better for Kentucky. It's just so gross and sad that our Miss KY can't appear in public without being put down on how her hair looks. Our Teen can't post with out a mean comment here. Discussing the pageants and how people did and predicting is all part of the fun and spirit of competition but the level of nastiness that prevails here is just about as bad as it can get. Will you be so accepting of the nastiness when it is you or your family who is being ripped apart? If you are a contestant I implore you to be better. Encourage you to rise above and refuse to take part in the low down hate quagmire of this board. Make this board a place to come get updates and true discussion about this system that we all so proudly advertise as being a great place to meet friends. Be that friend. I realize everyone will not be your best friend but do they all have to be your enemy? Why are we not really the example we pretend to be when we are answering that on stage question. Are we/you truly a person of character or are you that nasty girl behind a keyboard saying your ugliest thoughts at the girl you envy or feel may best you at the next pageant.
