I am so ready for this year to be over. Next please!!" on 20:47:32 10/31/13 Thu >>>>>Any guesses to what the BIG announcement Jenna and >>>>>Laura are teasing about? Supposed to be announced >by >>>>>video tonight. Hope it's something good not >>>>>anti-climatic with all the hype. >>> >>>Oh.... It isn't dumb. Any reasonable person can watch the video or look into it to see if they want to do it. It's a challenge and a big thing to accomplish. The drawback that I see is that it's another invitation to spend money to gain an award/scholarship. I sometimes wish these scholarships didn't come because we all pooled out money then one person wins the pot. True asks from colleges, donors and the like to invest in the program and become renewable scholarships would be nice. Yes yes I know there are a few " in kind" type scholarships that is great. I think this is a lot of work and clearly right up the alley of the MAO /MAOT program it shows a lot and it's great if you can do it. If you want the gold which is for 16 and above it takes a year so if you are aging out this year in either program you would never receive your medal/award during a pageant and it seems like that , as far as doing it for the program goes would be one bonus on your resume. Who wants to try for the lower level because of the time limits. The first time anyone could get a gold at a pageant would be 2015. It's still nice not dumb that we are catching up with other states who offer this program and are awarded these medals at Miss America/ MAOTeen. We at least have the opportunity now and opportunity is never a bad thing. The hype doesn't seem to match the announcement though.
