I don't find her at all attractive and her personality is even worse! Lots of tacky! I'm embarrassed she was chosen withall the other classy ladies there" on 18:30:04 11/11/13 Mon This will be a somewhat long post so hold on to your seats and before you form an opinion who you think this could be know that I am not a relative of anyone that participated, nor was I in attendance this weekend. However my daughter is new to the Miss Kentucky system so naturally I wanted to do a little research as any mother would do. What I found in these posts were the most vial, cruel and corruptive comments that I have ever read. My daughter has competed in pageants for several years and during that time we have met the Hornbacks as well as several others (I’m sure most of you as well) on several occasions. I have never found them to be anything but polite, not the picture that many of you have painted here. The girls and their mother have gone out of the way to help others around them from helping with prepping for interview, putting last minute touches on outfits and gowns and wishing them the best. As for picking apart 2 teenage girls along with the countless others listed on this vial board you should be ashamed of your selves. If you are a mother what would you do if someone were saying this about your daughter, and if you are the contestant yourself put yourself in their shoes. We teach our children to be role models in their community, to strive for scholarship, and assume leadership in all that they do. I ask this. Are your words demonstrating such? Are we teaching them to be women of character to uphold the values of the Miss America Organization? To be role models to little girls everywhere who dreams to one day be Miss America? By reading this, I think the answer is no. Every competition is going to have a winner and a runner up. Every contestant is going to have a flaw. EVERY contestant. They are going to all be strong in certain areas and need a little more training in others. That’s life. My biggest question is once your child (or you) win a title does this stop? I have to admit that this has made me second guess subjecting my daughter to this. This is not the type of environment I thought it was. Yes, its pageantry and in that comes a degree of cattiness because it’s a competition. It’s just like having a rival football team. But to get on here and act the way you have is absurd. We talk about national television shows such as Toddlers and Tiaras and Honey Boo Boo portraying a negative light on pageantry. But this is just as bad, if not worse. Because I can guarantee when you see each other you will be nice to their face and then cower behind a computer screen to talk badly. This type of behavior is what is absolutely shameful and will ruin the pageant industry. Not a little girl wearing fake hair and a flipper. Ridiculous.
