Why is that? I get discussion but wow it's really really sad to see. Has anyone even remembered we have at this moment Laura Hancock competing at MAOT? Being curious I looked at other states Miss/OT message boards, FB pages, Instagrams and Tweets of which we have all for both contestants. The support for other states is so nice to see. Photos, well wishes, lots and lots of support. No, it's not every state, of course, but it is such an amazing thing to see. I so often hear " I made life long friends" " The sisterhood" , " pageant girls are so much different than the stero type". Well, where is that here in KY. Are these disparaging posts bitter contestants, mother and friends? Why, Why can't we rise above the pettiness and be like those states that draw a deep pool of to choose from of amazing competitors and have another National Title again? Perhaps, it's because our KY girls are like the mean spirited, petty, shallow stereo type? To read it here it would seem so. I understand this board is for discussion and not everyone is going to love every contestant but where is the support. This is just a vicious, nasty place to say horrible horrible things. Shame on you girls. If, as I suspect it is sour grape contestants or Mothers is this what you want for yourself if/when your win? Is this your real character? The answer we hear so often when asked on stage " what is character" is " who you are when no one else is looking " well here it is. No one is looking and this is who you are MEAN and NASTY. Mostly this just makes me sad for what is says for KY. Sure this is not the official mouthpiece for our state but not seeing much on the official sites either. Nothing on the social media sites for promotion or support. Please KY lets rise to the occasion and support our girls. We know we can't win every year and maybe this year isn't our year but since we have all subjected ourselves or our daughters to be in a system that uses judges can't we abide by the decision and move forward. You don't have to like it but do you have to pour acid on the girl who bested you? Get up and go put a well wish on the MKOT FB page for Laura. Post a shout out to her on your Twitter or on the MKOT one. Be better. Be better for the State you say you want to represent. Come on Kentucky be the sweet state the one where girls say no matter what it's a great place to represent because I know I have support. Be that sisterhood that girls truly have for life!! The fact that everyone rallied around Jessica and loved her, sisters included, shows maybe its Jenna's fault she doesn't have many supporters.
