I did the plastic sleeve thing, too. Make sure you put two pages in each sleeve (back to back) so you read it like a book. Somebody told me that they put them in the sleeves with the opening at the bottom because otherwise all sorts of dust and stuff can fall in the sleeves when the notebook is on a shelf. Seems to me, though, that the pages might fall out if bottom-loaded.

I did the sleeve thing too - never thought of putting them upside down though! LOL!! A tip - you can get a big box of the sleeves at Costco/Sams Club if you have a membership for much cheaper than the office stores :-)
