I have to agree with Cindy. My husband and I watched the TLC special last evening on the collapse of the WTC. I thought I was able to watch the live footage, since so many months had passed. Wrong. Images of the planes hitting the buildings, the smoke and flames, people leaning and/or jumping out of windows and the way the buildings imploded will be in my memory forever. It didn't even matter if the TLC show last night didn't show a person jumping down 100 stories ... my brain was able to recall it in vivid clarity. I guess it's much the same in that I am still unable (or is it just too scared?) to drive the highway my father-in-law was killed on last summer. The memories of twisted vehicles and blood stains are what my eyes see, not wide prairies and endless blue skies, when I arrive at that fateful intersection. Call me a great big chicken, but I don't think I will have the intestinal fortitude to watch the CBS Special in March. I'm sure some can watch it, but I don't think I can.

I understand and sympathize with you on having to be reminded of the place that your father in law lost his life... it WILL be with you forever, but by the Grace of God, the pain will lessen as time goes by. As for the events on Sept 11th.....everynow and then, the news channels recount the day by showing the planes going into the buildings, and then the buildings falling......my heart still goes in my stomach.
